When creation was expensive, scarcity did some of our thinking for us.
You could only launch so many campaigns.
Write so many pages.
Run so many tests.
Produce so many assets.
The constraint forced a little discipline.
Not always wisdom. Not always taste. But at least some friction.
AI removes that friction.
And when friction disappears, judgment gets exposed.
That is the part most people are underestimating.
The problem is not that teams can now create 1,000 landing pages, 500 ads, infinite outbound sequences, or a warehouse full of synthetic thought before lunch.
The problem is that many teams never had a real theory of what should exist in the first place.
They had habits, preferences, benchmarks, anecdotes, old playbooks, internal politics dressed up as strategy, and activity dressed up as testing.
AI did not create that.
It removed the alibi.
A team that could not learn from 3 landing pages will not magically learn from 1,000.
It will scale its confusion, instrument the wreckage, and call the debris a testing program.
But volume is not the villain either.
That is the lazy critique.
Programmatic coverage, personalization, segment-specific pages, and creative variation can all be useful.
But it dependes on if the system underneath is real.
- What is being varied?
- What is being held constant?
- What would count as signal?
- What would trigger action?
- What gets killed?
- What compounds?
- Where does human judgment enter the loop?
Without that architecture, output never touches reality hard enough to be corrected.
It just circulates.
More pages, posts, dashbaords, "learnings"...
More dead thought moving at machine speed.
Scale is not intelligence.
Scale is a truth serum.
It reveals whether there was a mind inside the machine.
A second brain is useless if the first one wasn’t being used.
